Banking and finance in France

A team with a strong experience : our team in Paris advise a wide range of clients, banks and other financial institutions, as well as borrowers, on domestic and international transactions. We also assist arrangers on the structuring of complex financing transactions, or investment funds or banks on debt purchase programmes. We are well recognised for our expertise in corporate lending, real estate and asset finance and tax structured products. Our ability to advise on the full range of cross-border mandates is also a substantial draw.

Local expertise, international reach on both banks' and borrowers' sides : we work for both French and international finance- and bank-related actors. This has allowed the team to build on existing relationships with French banks such as BPCE and Crédit Agricole CIB, while also working for major international banks such as Lloyds Banking Group, Barclays and HSBC. The team has also very strong relationships with both French and international corporate borrowers and some major investment funds operating in France.

Full service offering : our French team can adapt to work from large international cross-border complex matters to vanilla loans. We can also draw upon our domestic and international experts in tax, corporate, private equity and real estate to support our banking and finance offering.

Restructuring : we are also very active on restructuring, working alongside our restructuring team in Paris, acting both for creditors and debtors renegotiating or restructuring their debt.

Project finance : we are committed to developing substantial finance resource for clients across the wider EMEA region and our Paris office acts as a hub for international work for Eversheds Sutherland there. We are working on a number of major and complex bank finance mandates in France and on the African continent. The team advises governments and administrative bodies, financial institutions and also sponsors and major corporates.
