For our team located in Munich we are looking for a Full-Time

Senior Finance Manager Germany (m/w/d)

Key responsibilities:

This role combines commercial business partnering with local operational and statutory requirements including:

  • Operational responsibility for all areas of finance including Financial Control and Finance Operations
  • Commercial business partnering to the German-based Eversheds Sutherland partners and lawyers
  • Reviewing and optimising local finance end-to-end processes to drive efficiencies and a step change in our service offering to the business
  • Driving a step change in working capital arrangements
  • Ensuring the integrity of accounting records, local accounting and the month-end process.
  • Maintaining a strong internal control environment, proactively identifying and challenging areas for improvement
  • Managing the year-end audit, incl. preparation and submission of local statutory/tax reporting
  • Working in conjunction with Human Resources and Partner Services teams on all payroll and partner tax matters
  • Being the key contact for the wider finance team on budget and forecast preparation, performance reviews, variance analyses, etc.
  • Responsible for the training and development of the finance team

Skills and experience:

You will be degree educated and hold a professional accountancy qualification. To be successful in this role you must be able to demonstrate:

  • Huge drive, passion, energy, enthusiasm and commitment
  • Fluent spoken and written English and German
  • Impeccable commercial skills
  • Strong communication skills, presenting ideas and recommendations clearly and confidently, influencing at senior level
  • First class team management and leadership capabilities and experience

Key competencies:

You will be someone who has the drive and energy to change the way we operate including driving increased profitability through better commercial awareness in our German offices. This is a highly visible, senior role within our German Firm experiencing strong growth, with the key focus on delivering first-class client service.

You will be able to handle conflicting timescales and priorities. You will display a positive attitude and adopt a ‘can do’ approach.
