Eversheds Sutherland advises Q ENERGY on a joint venture with ENVIRIA to develop a 500 MW photovoltaic pipeline in Germany

    The international legal practice Eversheds Sutherland has provided legal advice to the newly founded green power supplier Q ENERGY on the conclusion of a framework agreement with the solar energy specialist ENVIRIA to develop a 500 MW photovoltaic pipeline in Germany.

    The portfolio consists of more than 30 PV projects with an individual project size of 2 to 79 MW and projected completion dates between 2023 and 2025. The majority of the projects is intended to operate on a merchant or power purchase agreement (PPA) basis. Other projects will participate in the upcoming tendering procedures within the framework of the German Renewable Energies Act (EEG).

    The transaction is one of the largest merchant solar project transactions in the growing German PV market.

    Q ENERGY is Europe’s new provider of holistic solutions around green energy power plants – a trusted partner of clients across the entire value chain of renewable energy downstream projects – from solar-PV, to on- and off-shore wind projects, to storage solutions and hybrid power plants, all the way to engaging in green hydrogen projects. Headquartered in Berlin, Germany, Q ENERGY will soon comprise three companies: Q ENERGY Solutions SE (Holding), Q ENERGY Europe GmbH (Berlin) and Q ENERGY France SAS (Avignon). ENVIRIA is facilitating a renewable energy ecosystem, with the aim to boost B2B participation in the clean energy transition.
