Eversheds Sutherland advises Compagnia dei Caraibi on the acquisition of Elephant Gin

The international law firm Eversheds Sutherland advised Compagnia dei Caraibi Società Benefit, a company listed on the Italian stock exchange, regarding the acquisition of the German spirits manufacturer Elephant Gin GmbH. The investment in Elephant Gin was made via the subsidiary Refined Brands S.r.l. The acquisition is an important step towards the expansion of Compagnia dei Caraibi's trademark portfolio on the international spirits market.
The total investment is comprised of a capital increase and a variable purchase price. Part of the purchase price will be paid in the form of listed shares of Compagnia dei Caraibi.
Compagnia dei Caraibi is a leading company in the area of importing, developing, marketing and distributing premium and super premium spirits, wines and soft drinks from all over the world.
Elephant Gin is a well-known premium gin brand from Germany. Elephant Gin was founded in 2013 and Compagnia dei Caraibi has already been selling the brand on the Italian market for the last six years. Part of the profits of Elephant Gin is donated to elephant protection projects in Africa.
Compagnia dei Caraibi was represented by an Eversheds Sutherland team led by Partner Christof Lamberts (Corporate/M&A, Munich).
