The Role

This role will provide you with an opportunity to work alongside our dedicated Belfast teams in advising clients, whilst gaining invaluable insights, practical experience and knowledge of the legal industry.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work across the following areas in the Belfast office: Real Estate & Construction, Corporate & Commercial Law, Procurement, Employment & Immigration, Financial Services and Dispute Resolution & Litigation. You will get the opportunity to gain a full insight into the workings of a commercial law firm.

The role will entail supporting the Belfast fee earners in a variety of tasks as summarised below and to undertake office duties where required:

• Real Estate – searches, drafting releases, assisting fee earners with all transactional support in a busy team

• Litigation – assisting with the running of the RL250 portfolio including: drafting correspondence and pleadings, liaising with Court and counsel, preparing detailed monthly billing schedule and raising bills monthly; all other litigation support including ad hoc research, bundle preparation, Court runs and checking court lists

• Employment – research, bundle preparation

• Banking – supporting banking senior lawyer in relation to transactions – searches, drafting, preparing and managing completion checklists and conditions precedent

• Procurement and other departments – miscellaneous ad hoc tasks where required

• Assisting with post runs and other office tasks on occasions when secretarial support is not available

About the Person

The ideal candidate will:

• have practical experience within a professional services organisation

• demonstrate good commercial acumen and awareness

• possess strong organisational skills and an ability to manage own workload;

• have excellent interpersonal and communication skills;

• demonstrate a willingness to develop and learn;

• be trustworthy and tactful in confidential environment

• have a flexible approach with an ability to adapt to an evolving environment; and

• be computer literate, with practical experience with respect to Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
