Department allocation
As a summer intern you will be assigned to a team in one of our three main departments; Commercial, Property or Litigation, or one of our specialist areas which consist of; Employment, Funds, Tax, Intellectual Property, Technology and Data protection, Pensions, Construction & Projects or Banking. Reporting directly to the partner of that team, your workload will be varied and interesting with the responsibility equal to that of a trainee.
Feedback
We are aware that feedback will be important for you throughout your internship. While we encourage on the job feedback, each of our interns are invited to a mid-programme feedback session with their partner and a member of HR. The meetings are an open forum that provide interns with an opportunity to analyse their own performance, discuss their progress, identify strengths and development areas and distinguish any key areas of interest.
Making Improvements – your feedback is important to us in making improvements to the programme each year… who better to ask for feedback than those completing the programme. Each year we run an intern group session at the end of the programme and have an interactive and open discussion on what worked and maybe what didn’t work so well.
Your buddy
Each intern is allocated a buddy, usually a trainee solicitor, on their first day. Your buddy will help settle first day nerves and will offer support and guidance throughout the programme and be the ‘go to’ person in terms of seeking advice/answering any questions.
Secondment Opportunity
Being an international law firm brings international opportunities. To experience the international aspect of our firm we offer a fully funded secondment opportunity. We recognise that intern secondments are valuable in terms of personal and career development and a great opportunity to gain experience, confidence and skills whilst immersed in a different culture. Our interns have the opportunity to spend two weeks on secondment in one of our UK offices.

Project Competition
Our interns have the opportunity to make an innovative impact on our firm and to showcase their talent and creativity by putting their skills into practice! Our interns work in teams to participate in a team based project (non-legal topic), assigning various team roles, being creative whilst also having some fun doing it!
At the end of the programme each team is invited to present their project to a judging panel.
Traineeship Opportunity
Each summer intern is guaranteed a traineeship interview.
