Top tips for applying
Before you hit that submit button why not take a look at some of our top tips for applying to our traineeship and internship programmes.
- Your application is the first time we meet you as a candidate so make sure to sell yourself! Think about your skills, aspirations and your strongest points that you have to offer– it can often be useful to think about what your ‘unique selling point’ is – remember questions at the back of the application (teamwork and achievements/hobbies) are important in helping you to stand out from the crowd.
- Demonstrate your writing skills and attention to detail…remember a lawyers approach is structured and concise. Don’t use glossy terms or jargon!
- Stick to the word limit. It usually indicates how much detail you need to provide. If you fall short, don’t worry… better short and sweet than long and irrelevant.
- Ensure you proof read your application before submitting. It is a good idea to ask someone (a family member or friend) to proof read your application….. a fresh pair of eyes can spot errors quicker!
- Visit our trainee and summer programme pages on the website, and our social media platforms before applying to give you a real insight into what it is like to work in Eversheds Sutherland.
