In 2019 Eversheds Sutherland and the Royal Irish Academy of Music announced four talented young musicians to become the newest members of the Eversheds Sutherland Accelerator Academy. Pianist Dida Condria, violinist Julieanne Forrest, violinist Claire O’Connor & cellist Catherine Cotter took part in a 2-year programme of professional development ‘off stage’, including financial assistance to support with travel to masterclasses and competitions.
Over 24-months the musicians availed of several Accelerator Academy services to help with their personal and professional development. These included access to the Academy’s Ambassador and renowned concert pianist, Finghin Collins, as well as a special masterclass. Additionally, the personalised programme included life skills such as public speaking, media training and financial support to help cover out of pocket expenses.
In this vlog Dida Condria discusses how Covid-19 has impacted her musical studies, upcoming plans and how the Accelerator Academy programme has helped her.
