Businesses are working diligently in their plans to open up following the outbreak of Covid-19. The Government’s Return to Work Safely Protocol is a key workplace safety document. The advice and requirements contained in the Protocol are mandatory and apply to all workplaces.

A major concern for many of our clients is the role of the COVID-19 Employee Safety Representative. The Government guidance is clear that this employee must be trained and in turn must provide COVID-19 induction training for all employees before the return to the workplace.

Our employment and health and safety teams at Eversheds Sutherland are running two training sessions specifically for COVID-19 Employee Safety Representatives. The training will last for 45 minutes and will include an additional 15 minutes Q&A.

Register your interest h ere now .

Topics covered within the training session include:

Potential impact of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the workplace

Practical steps to protect yourself and others from COVID-19 in the workplace

What are the requirements of the Return to Work Safely Protocol

What is your role as a COVID-19 Safety Representative

Risk assessment

Spaces are limited on the session so as to ensure attendees have the opportunity to ask questions. The cost is €250 plus VAT per attendee. If your workplace has more than 10 safety representatives, the maximum cost will be €2,500 and you can invite five additional attendees from your organisation.

Please click the "Register your interest" button to book a place for your safety representatives. We will be in touch to arrange a suitable date and time.

All participants will receive a certificate to show they have completed the training.

Staff return to work inductions

Our Employment and Health and Safety teams are also available to work with you to assist in preparing a return to work induction for all your staff. If this is something you are interested in, please contact Julie Galbraith or Stephen Barry . Julie and Stephen will discuss the specific measures your organisation has taken or plans to take and we can prepare a joint induction training video with your representatives which you can send to staff before their return to the workplace.
