Dispute Resolution & Litigation, Ireland
'The partners are very responsive and able to get to the bottom of a matter very quickly, providing clear, concise and brief advice' - Chambers Europe
'Unstinting attention to detail sets the team apart' - Legal 500
Traditionally, our Dispute Resolution and Litigation group has enjoyed the benefit of acting for a variety of clients, including UK and other foreign clients who can draw on our wealth of experience in successfully handling claims and disputes.
Recognising that disputes cause disruption to the running of a business, part of our role in providing practical advice is to minimise disruption to our clients. To attain this objective, each solicitor uses a modern case management technology facilitating an immediate assessment of each case at the outset of litigation. Clients are notified of the likely costs that may be incurred from the commencement of proceedings and are regularly updated as the matter progresses.
The group is particularly skilled in managing large and complex cases in a strategic and commercial manner. We have a high level of experience in the Commercial Court. We continue to deal with disputes in all jurisdictions in the most cost efficient manner.
We focus on resolving disputes, either by litigation, mediation or arbitration. The group’s dispute resolution capability is reflected by having two experienced CEDR accredited mediators amongst the partners.
We have a very strong property litigation and related advisory practice. We act for major Irish property companies and developers and also have considerable experience in acting for both landlords and tenants of commercial properties. We have litigated a large number of property disputes before the Commercial Court and acted in judicial review decisions of planning authorities and regulators.
We act on behalf of both domestic and international insurance companies on a range of issues from product liability to complex professional negligence claims. We offer intellectual property advisory and litigation experience in all areas of IP practice, including substantial patent, trademark, copyright, designs and trade secrets actions. We have extensive experience in advising businesses on environmental, health and safety issues and environmental disputes. Our dedicated team aims to provide effective solutions and advice in all insolvency and corporate recovery situations. We handle all types of actions under the Companies Acts, ranging from shareholder and boardroom disputes to warranty claims arising upon the transfer of a company.
