Employment and Human Resources

The Employment department is among the largest and most prestigious in the business. In addition, there is a Human Resources consultancy which advises clients on issues relating to remuneration and talent.

At Eversheds Sutherland, we provide advice on nearly all issues that arise in relation to employment law, including both strategic advice and consultancy and also litigation. Our employment law and social security lawyers advise on a wide range of matters including the negotiation, drafting and termination of employment contracts in the context of both ordinary and special employment relations. They have a wide experience of collective bargaining and of business restructuring processes (including the suspension of contracts, collective dismissals, modification of employment conditions, insolvency proceedings etc) and they appear in court proceedings before the Employment Courts, Employment Divisions of Regional Appeal Courts (Tribunales Superiores de Justicia), the National Appeal Court (Audiencia Nacional), the Supreme Court and the Constitutional Court. They also provide advice on remuneration schemes, pensions and employment benefits.

As regards the consultancy field, our services include the definition and implementation of remuneration schemes, the design of human resources strategies and talent development and management. Variable remuneration schemes, long-term incentives, directors’ pay, job classification models and salary structures, flexible remuneration, career development, performance appraisals, succession planning, identifying potential, senior executive development, international mobility are just some of the policies which the department designs and implements.
