Proposals for the introduction of a Swiss trust
- Switzerland
17-01-2022
The consultation on the introduction of the trust in Swiss law is open!
On January 12, 2022, the Federal Council published a preliminary draft to regulate the trust in the Code of Obligations. This is intended to prevent Swiss clients from going abroad to set up a trust. One important change: the irrevocable trust is to be treated in the same way as a foundation.
An interesting debate about the trust and the foundation is imminent.
More information on this proposal can be found here (in German, French and Italian).
