Brexit webinar: This deal, no deal, no Brexit – Parliament votes

Who should attend

Those with a Brexit interest.

Synopsis

Eversheds Sutherland hosted a webinar for clients and contacts following the parliamentary vote on the UK’s Brexit deal. In this recording we explain the impact of the result of the vote and the likely next steps in the Brexit process. Our audience was also updated on the implications of a hard exit and the other options, such as Norway Plus, that could still be available to the UK and its future relationship with the EU.

We now have confirmation that the Parliamentary vote on the Brexit deal will take place on 15th January 2019 a month after Mrs May postponed the original vote on the 11th hour. This remains the most crucial point to date on the Brexit timeline.

As the EU has already outlined and, despite Mrs May’s attempts to negotiate otherwise, the failure of this deal in Parliament leaves the UK with the options of a no deal and a hard Brexit or no Brexit. If it passes, then the Government can introduce the European Union (Withdrawal Agreement) Bill, giving domestic legal effect to the Withdrawal agreement.

Given the significance of the vote on the implications for your business, and your Brexit contingency planning, we would like you to join us as we hold a webinar to provide an update on what the result of Parliament’s vote means in practice, and where we go from here. Hosted by Eversheds Sutherland’s head of Brexit, Ros Kellaway, we will also discuss the implications for business and trade with the UK and within the EU.
