Nicola Bennison leads the national student issues team in the education group. Nicola has a dual specialism in student issues and employment law with a particular focus on equality and diversity.

She is a regular speaker at conferences for a range of organisations as well as a regularly providing in-house training on student and HR issues.

Chris Mordue is a partner in our Human Resources Practice Group, advising in employment to our Education sector clients, particularly universities. Chris' work includes complex disputes and tribunal cases, industrial relations issues, TUPE, redundancy and organisational change, senior level terminations, internationalisation, equality and diversity matters and academic freedom issues.

Chris is an experienced employment tribunal advocate, having represented employers at numerous tribunal hearings since qualifying as a solicitor in 1993. His tribunal work typically includes the defence of claims for unfair and wrongful dismissal, but typically also claims involving complaints of discrimination and whistleblowing.

Robert Gray is a Partner in our Human Resources practice. He undertakes a full range of contentious and non-contentious employment work. His work areas include: redundancy/restructuring, collective and trade union issues, senior postholder terminations, complex internal disciplinary and grievance proceedings, discrimination and equality issues (including the public sector equality duty), employment-related DPA/FOIA issues, 'atypical' working models (including sessional/term-time, zero hours and fixed-term contracts) and whistleblowing issues. He also provides advice on governance and constitutional issues for education sector employers.

Robert is an experienced advocate and negotiator. He regularly delivers training and thought leadership events for education clients and sector bodies, including UCEA, UHR, AoC and the Sixth Form Colleges' Association.

Ben Wood is a Partner in our Human Resources Group. He is experienced in providing employment law advice to clients in the education sector.

Ben also conducts his own advocacy in Employment Tribunals. Recent cases have included discrimination, whistleblowing, claims under the fixed term employees and part time workers legislation and under the Working Time Regulations.

Alison Oldfield is a partner in Eversheds Litigation and Dispute Management Group. She is experienced in handling all types of property disputes acting for a diverse range of national and international clients spanning both the public and private sector.

She also leads the dispute resolution team in the education group, advising education institutions across the academies, further and higher education sectors on a wide range of contentious and risk management issues particularly in relation to contractual and property disputes and judicial review proceedings.
