Real estate funds
Our real estate funds practice brings together specialist practitioners from our real estate, fund management, tax and real estate finance groups. We can meet the needs of the real estate investment market having broad experience of the various investment vehicles available, both old and new.We advise on investment structures (both domestic and offshore), tax, governance and regulatory issues, asset management and other third party arrangements, and the appointment of consultants and professionals.
We advise clients on the suitability of particular structures for different types of investors (including by jurisdiction), and we typically advise on all aspects relating to investor relations, including private placement regulation where relevant.
Working together, we can ensure that each facet of a real estate fund transaction is covered. Our tax group, for example, provides analysis and advice on the structuring of funds, complex tax considerations in relation to transferring assets into, and from, funds, as well as direct property tax advice.
We also regularly advise clients on restructuring and reorganising existing real estate funds to enable them to take in additional capital and/or to extend the life or investment period of the fund, as well as exporting funds from, and, recently, importing them into, the UK.
Our International Funds Net (IFN) service provides a specialist co-ordinated service that enables clients to comply with regulatory obligations and understand key issues in each country where their funds are sold.
Our real estate finance group supports funds throughout the investment cycle.
