Corporate responsibility initiatives in Jordan

At Eversheds Sutherland, Jordan our vision and values are at the heart of everything we do. We understand that we have a responsibility for our planet and that our operations have a local, regional and global impact.

Working from our offices in Amman, our people are committed to promoting the conservation of natural resources, preventing environmental pollution and continuously improving our environmental performance. We have identified our significant aspects as energy and paper usage, travel, and waste production.

Jordan Environment Society for recycling (JES)

The Amman office has recently signed up with the Jordan Environment Society for recycling (JES). Jordan Environment Society was established in 1988 as a non-profit non-governmental organization. It is the largest NGO in Jordan in its field. The objective of JES includes, but is not limited to, protecting the environment and its basic elements of water, air, soil and wildlife. Based on the belief that the environment is both the endowment and responsibility of all people, JES encourages interaction of various entities in environmental solutions. Through its 11 branches around the country, JES raises public awareness and promotes community action at the local level. By accessing professionals in both the private and public sector, JES enables the adoption of policies and the application of international environmental standards.

Environmental actions for the Amman office

As the office expanding we are trying to be as environmentally friendly as possible. Working with the JES is not only helpful to our company but the wider environment in with we work. At the end of each working day we;

turn off the lights in our offices
shut our print/copy machines
turn off our heat/A.C

Other positive changes in the workplace include;

recycling paper
special recycling trash cans to separate cardboard, cans, papers and plastic objects
