We’re committed to working sustainably, unlocking talent, and enabling access to justice.
Carbon footprint and working for net zero
In 2021, our International business received approval for its medium-term reduction plan to reduce emissions across Scopes 1, 2 and 3 by 50% by 2030. By the end of 2022, our US offices will have completed its nearterm science based targets which are to reduce emissions across Scopes 1, 2, and 3 and will submit targets to the Science-Based Targets initiative.
100% Renewable
We are participating in the Legal Renewables Initiative (LRI), pledging to use 100% renewable electricity in our UK offices by 2025. 100% of our US offices’ estimated annual electricity usage is offset by the purchase of renewable energy certificates.
Sustainable printing
Our paper stocks are FSC certified. We’ve also converted to a lower weight paper and encourage paperless transactions wherever possible.
Community investment
We partner with social mobility charities around the globe, supporting noteworthy nonprofits and serving our communities’ most vulnerable citizens.
Driving equality
We are a Times Top 50 Employer for Women, Stonewall Top 100 employer, Vault Top 10 law firm for diversity, are recognized by the UK government as a Disability Confident employer, and are Gold Standard in the Hong Kong LGBT+ Inclusion Index.
Unlocking talent
As part of our Social Mobility Pledge, we’ve had 1,200 students on our UK Unlocked program, with 69% going on to study Law at university. Our US Scholars program for students of ethnic and culturally diverse backgrounds has enlisted more than 425 students, with 95% of accepted to law school.
Racial equity
We are committed to racial equity in the workplace and in our communities. We have signed the Race at Work Charter for continuous improvement, are committed to the Law Firm Antiracism Alliance, and are proud pro bono contributors to the Promise of Justice Initiative Jim Crow Juries Project.
Pro bono and access to justice
