Alexis Werl is a partner in the Litigation & Arbitration department of Eversheds Sutherland, leading the white-collar crime and investigations practice in Paris.
His experience covers all areas of criminal business law and compliance matters, including multi-jurisdictional investigations, anti-corruption and anti-bribery compliance as well as risk management programmes. His practice also extends to corporate finance litigation related to shareholder disputes, executives dismissals or post-acquisition disputes.
Alexis advises French and international groups, investment funds, high-profile executives, and public figures, in various sectors such as banking, finance, energy, industrials, cosmetics and new technologies.
A member of the Paris and New York Bars, and a former Secretary of the Conference, he is also a member of the Paris Bar Council since January 2021. Before joining Eversheds Sutherland, he has practiced during 20 years as a lawyer in several renowned French and international law firms.
Alexis is a member of the IBA and the ADAP.
Graduated from Sciences Po Paris and ESSEC (Business School), Alexis holds a Master's degree in business law from the University of Paris II Panthéon-Assas and an LL.M. from Columbia University (Harlan Fiske Stone scholar).
