Matthew is International Head of the Financial Services Sector Group and Co-Head of Financial Services Disputes and Investigations globally. He is also London senior office partner.

As Sector Group Head, Matthew is responsible for co-ordinating all of the firm’s client relationships across the Financial Services Sector including in the areas of corporate and investment banking; retail banking and consumer finance; insurance; asset management; payments and private equity. In particular, Matthew is responsible for co-ordinating the firm’s FinTech offering, as well as thought leadership on key global themes including sustainability and green finance, governance and culture, product regulation, financial crime and regulatory change impacting business models, products and processes.

In his capacity as Co-Head of Financial Services Disputes and Investigations, Matthew advises some of the world’s biggest financial institutions and corporates within a relevant regulatory or law enforcement perimeter. His practice covers financial services litigation and arbitration; internal and government investigations; financial crime and governance/senior manager accountability. Matthew is particularly well known for his work in wholesale banking, asset management and insurance. He also represents accounting firms in litigation and regulatory enforcement matters.
