Richard is an Associate in our in-house specialist Costs Unit. Richard was called to the Bar in 2005 before cross-qualifying as a solicitor.
He has over 15 years legal experience, 6 years of which was spent in a Legal 500 firm specialising in claimant industrial disease work and multi-track personal injury matters.
Richard has also undertaken legal auditing work nationally for an ATE insurer, developing an interest and specialism in costs during this time.
On a day-to-day basis, he deals with a range of costs disputes for both paying and receiving parties. Richard has developed a particular specialism in section 75 Consumer Credit Act claims for banks, and claims arising out of insurance and financial mis-selling. In addition, Richard has developed a particular specialism in respect of costs budgeting, including the preparation of budgets exceeding £1 million.
As well as his costs work, Richard has been involved in a number of projects, including s166 investigations and is managing a caseload of issued PPI claims on behalf of one of our banking clients.
Richard has also been involved in a delivering a number of training sessions on costs to a number of clients, as well as being a regular contributor to the firm's costs publication, Costs Guru.
