Christian works in the Litigation & Dispute Management practice group in our Dusseldorf office and is a member of the global Insurance sector group.

He specialises in insurance and liability law and, in his capacity as a certified specialist in insurance law, he advises clients on all types of industrial insurances (including technical insurance, product liability insurance, D&O insurance). In liability cases, Christian supports clients both in the assertion of claims against the injuring party as well as in the defence against payment claims.

Christian is a trained process control electrician. He is familiar with technical scenarios which cause damage. In addition, he has many years of extensive experience in representing clients in complex proceedings. It is due to this expertise and experience that managing directors, companies and corporations seek his advice and support.

Christian is a regular speaker on insurance and liability law topics and author of various specialist articles in this respect.

The specialised press regularly recognises him as an expert in insurance law: Legal 500 Germany recommends him as one of the top lawyers for insurance law in Germany (2021), the German business journal WirtschaftsWoche has counted Christian among the most renowned lawyers in insurance law (2020) and Expert Guides recommended him as the "rising star in insurance and reinsurance" (2017 and 2018).

  • Representing an energy provider regarding claims under assembly insurances (amounting to a three-digit million figure)
  • Representing an international general contractor regarding claims under technical insurances (amounting to a two-digit million figure)
  • Representing a plant manufacturer regarding claims under commercial credit insurances (amounting to a two-digit million figure)
  • Review and drafting of industrial property insurance contracts for renewable energies companies (insured interests amounting to a three-digit million figure)
  • Representing a contractor regarding damage to an offshore wind farm (claims amounting to a two-digit million figure)
  • Advising and representing a policy holder regarding fire, business interruption and D&O insurance claims (amounting to a two-digit million figure).
  • Advising on the insurance cover for the construction of a new power plant (insured interests amounting to three-digit million figure)
