Practice notes

Alexander Bleckat is an Associate in the Commercial and IT practice group at Eversheds Sutherland in Hamburg.

His area of activity includes all aspects of information technology law, in particular possible legal challenges in connection with artificial intelligence (AI). Another focus of his activity is the provision of advice regarding questions under data protection law in the international context.

In addition to working for Eversheds Sutherland, Alexander currently pursues his doctoral research at the University of Hanover with respect to a copyright law-related topic.

Alexander is the author of numerous contributions to data protection and copyright law topics, in particular also with respect to the areas of artificial intelligence and robotics. In addition, he is a co-author of the book "Jura geht auch anders".

Alexander studied law with a focus on intellectual property and IT law at the University of Hanover. He completed his legal traineeship in the district of Celle Higher Regional Court. In this context, he inter alia worked for a renowned major law firm in the area of data protection law. In addition to his legal traineeship, Alexander worked as a research assistant at the institute for civil law, intellectual property law and IT law at the University of Hanover.

Before working for Eversheds Sutherland, Alexander was acting as a probationary judge for the Federal State of Lower Saxony.
