Practice notes

Reto Boehi is a founding partner of Eversheds Sutherland in Switzerland. He advises corporates and individuals focusing on international HQ, mid-sized corporates, executives and entrepreneurs in corporate, commercial and employment matters including tax and social security aspects. With a strong focus on business structuring in a cross-border context, he also regularly advises private clients with regard to succession, estate, tax planning and relocation.

Reto is head of the Tax Practice Group and of the Retail Sector Group of Eversheds Sutherland Switzerland. He also is deputy head of the Employment Practice Group, where he focuses on mobile workforce, remuneration matters, equity participation and incentive plans, including national and international tax as well as social security and pension aspects. Reto is member of the board of several Swiss companies, particularly active in Start Up’s and international companies.

Reto practised law in an international context, working in law firms in Switzerland and in England. He was a judge at the Zurich Tax Appeals Commission (now Tax Court) from 1999 to 2002. He was admitted to the bar in Switzerland in 1993 and is also admitted as Solicitor in England & Wales.

Reto studied Law at the University of Berne (lic.iur. 1990, Dr.iur. 2001). He holds a postgraduate degree from the College of Law, London (QLTT 2001). He was the Swiss participant in the European Lawyers Scheme of the British Council in London in 1998.

Reto is member of the Zurich Bar and the Swiss Bar Associations (SAV/FSA), as well as of the Law Society of England & Wales and of the International Fiscal Association (IFA). He is also Chair of the Legal & Tax Chapter and Deputy Chair of the Public Affairs Commission of the British-Swiss Chamber of Commerce (BSCC).
