Dr. Werner Brickwedde is a Partner at Eversheds Sutherland in Dusseldorf and Head of the Corporate/M&A practice group in Germany.
He advises national and international clients in the areas of general corporate law and M&A, in particular on national and cross-border transactions and joint ventures. He focuses on transactions in the energy and infrastructure sector.
Before he joined Eversheds Sutherland, he worked as a Counsel at the law firm Clifford Chance.
Werner is one of the recommended lawyers in Germany for M&A (Handelsblatt/Best Lawyers 2020, 2021 and Kanzleimonitor 2021) and corporate law (WirtschaftsWoche 2021, Kanzleimonitor 2021). He is also recommended by Legal 500 Germany 2021 for corporate law and M&A.
Werner's recent experience includes advising:
- Deutsche Post/DHL on the acquisition of Prologis Germany CCII B.V.
- Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM) on its €1,4bn acquisition of a 50% interest in the Borssele 1 & 2 offshore wind farm in the Netherlands
- RSBG SE on the acquisition of Notion Systems GmbH
- Experian on the acquisition of a majority stake in Bertelsmann's Arvato Financial Solutions Risk Management division
- Consortium of utilities on the formation of a joint venture in relation to grid efficiency (450Connect)
- AIC on the sale of Aero Solutions
