Practice notes

Nancy Brown is a Partner and heads the Manchester Real Estate group. She specialises in all aspects of corporate real estate having over 20 years experience in this field. She advises a number of clients in the financial services, retail and health care sectors.

Nancy's recent experience includes advising NHP on its acquisition by a US private equity firm, global investment firm and a health care turnaround specialist. This was one of the largest transactions in the sector in the recent past. Nancy and her team advised NHP on the real estate aspects of the deal as part of the complex disposal of its portfolio approximately 275 care homes for £477million.

Nancy led the real estate team advising Co-op Bank on the disposal of a portfolio 1162 residential properties owned by tis subsidiary Illius to a US investor. Nancy leads the real estate team dealing with the day to day management of the Co-op Banks ‘business as usual’ real estate.

Nancy led the Manchester real estate team dealing with a major lease renewal programme comprising of approximately 750 lease renewals of retail bank branches. Nancy’s team used bespoke IT solutions to assist it in delivering the renewals to meet the client's requirements.

Nancy has advised Great Bear Distribution Limited for over 15 years most recently on the real estate aspects of the sale of the company.

The Manchester Real Estate team is rated "first tier" by Legal 500 and was awarded "Property Team of the Year 2014
