Practice notes
Chris is a Legal Director in our Commercial Dispute Resolution group. Chris advises clients in the private and public sectors in complex commercial litigation and dispute resolution, with a particular focus on diversified industrials/defence and retail. Chris regularly advises in connection with PFI/ project infrastructure related disputes. Chris also has particular experience in commercial agency and distribution disputes, regularly advising companies and providing training.
Chris’ recent experience includes:
• advising a Defence sector prime contractor in claims against its hardware software supplier connected with a key defence equipment contract.
• acting for five of the world's leading producers of electrical/electronic equipment in claims before the Chancery Division of the English High Court in respect of allegations of price fixing and/or abuse of a dominant position in relation to the WEEE Regulations.
• acting in a major public procurement dispute in the Technology & Construction Court for a public authority concerning long term waste infrastructure valued at £1.2bn.
• acting for an oil & gas sector client in connection with an arbitration award challenge under s.67/68 UK Arbitration Act.
Chris regularly provides training to clients on contractual issues, privilege and disclosure obligations, and commercial agency. Chris is also a member of the Firm’s investigations and inquiries team, having worked on inquiries in Northern Ireland following the Good Friday Agreement and a major research institution in NW England.
