George is a Senior Associate in the Hong Kong Banking and Finance team. He handles a broad range of contentious and transactional banking and financing matters for Hong Kong, PRC and international clients.

George has experience in resolving general banking, Letter of Credit (LC) and Factoring disputes. His recent experience includes advising on a banking dispute involving a claim of over USD 400 million; a PRC court injunction of over USD 84 million and an LC dispute involving a claim of over USD4 million using ICC’s Documentary Credit Dispute Resolution Expertise (DOCDEX) as a means of resolving dispute amicably without litigation.

George has advised various Hong Kong, PRC and international banks on their Receivables Purchase Agreements, Participation Agreements, Buyer and Supplier Agreements under Supply Chain Financing, standard documentation including Facility Letters, Standard Terms and Conditions, Bank Guarantees, Trade Finance Application Forms, Trade Finance Security Assignments etc. George has also advised on a client’s mobile banking documentation.

George is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin. He has recently delivered public seminars on LCs, Bank Guarantees, Standby LCs and Receivables Finance in Hong Kong, PRC and Singapore.

George had secondment experience at Banco Santander, HSBC and Hang Seng Bank.

George is currently a committee member of the Young Solicitors Group of the Law Society of Hong Kong, an organising committee member of the “Cross Strait Four Regions Young Lawyers Forum” and an organising committee member of the “Law Week 2017”.
