Chloe is a Senior Associate in our intellectual property and media team.

Chloe advises on both contentious and non-contentious IP matters relating to trade marks, passing off, copyright, design rights, confidential information and trade secrets, media rights and advertising. She advises on the subsistence, ownership, protection and exploitation of IP rights including drafting and negotiating licences, assignments, sponsorship and media agreements, and merchandising arrangements. Chloe also regularly advises clients in a range of sectors on IP aspects of major corporate transactions.

Chloe advises on the merits of IP infringement claims both made and received by clients, engaging in cease and desist correspondence through to resolution, frequently helping clients avoid the need for litigation. She also has particular expertise in consumer-facing promotions and advertising claims, and regularly reviews television, radio, print, web and social media advertising campaigns and promotions for compliance with the advertising codes.

Chloe is part of our Consumer sector group and acts for a number of clients in the food, drink and retail industries and has experience in dealing with issues specific to these areas.

Her recent experience includes advising on a high-profile and sensitive multimedia advertising campaign for a power supplier; advising a bank on intellectual property protection available for, and licensing of, indices and software; and advising a retailer in relation to a dispute with a supplier under a merchandise licence agreement.

Chloe has undertaken 4 client secondments including to a global drinks manufacturer, a major UK retailer and a leading insurer.

Chloe trained at Eversheds Sutherland and has also completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and Practice from the University of Oxford.
