Practice notes

Amanda is a Principal Associate in our Employment Labour & Pensions practice group specialising in pensions law.

Amanda joined Eversheds Sutherland from a large pensions and investment provider where she advised on all legal aspects of the DC master trust, pension matters from other pension products, member complaints, legislative horizon scanning, project development and pension investment matters. She has more than 20 years’ experience working as a Scottish solicitor (including more than 15 years’ experience of working as a pensions lawyer) in a number of different contexts and brings a wealth of experience in relation to DB and DC and contract based pensions. She has advised corporates, charities and trustees on all aspects of pensions and legislative change.

Amanda also has a good knowledge of behavioural finance and has published work in this area in the context of auto enrolment in the UK. She also contributes regularly to our pension briefings. She has been active in our local Edinburgh CSR group and also volunteers as a pro bono advisor with the Pensions Ombudsman.

Professional Activities

Amanda is a member of the Financial Services Regulation Committee of the Society of Pension Professionals, the Association of Pensions Lawyers and the Law Society of Scotland.

Amanda also undertakes volunteer support work with the Pensions Ombudsman.

External Presentations

Over her career, Amanda has presented many times at conferences and events around the world. Amanda has also lectured on Commercial and Financial law courses at undergraduate, postgraduation and Legal Masters level
