Ian is recognised by The Legal 500 and Chambers' Guide to the Legal Profession as being a leader in his field.

Ian advises on all aspects of running pension schemes including documentation, multi-scheme mergers, funding, regulatory advice and acting as independent trustee. He also advises both DB and DC master trusts and on public sector pension schemes.

Ian also specialises in SIPPs and small self-administered schemes. He is a member of the Association of Pension Lawyers, the Association of Member Directed Pension Schemes (AMPS) and he is also a past Chairman of his local NAPF.

Ian regularly writes and lectures on pensions issues for various organisations and at seminars and training courses for Eversheds-Sutherland nationally. He is a contributor to the Eversheds-Sutherland Pensions Law Handbook and to Eversheds-Sutherland Pensions Speed Brief, a monthly publication which is designed to provide a summary of one topical change in the law.
