Paul advises banks, building societies, asset managers and corporate buyside entities on a range of matters including derivatives and securities finance transactions and implementation of financial services regulation. Paul’s experience includes:
- negotiation of ISDA Master Agreements, ISDA collateral documentation and long-form confirmations;
- negotiation of GMRAs and GMSLAs;
- advice on compliance with EMIR together with associated agreements such as delegated reporting agreements and adherence to related ISDA Protocols;
- negotiation of client clearing agreements;
- negotiation of prime brokerage agreements;
- advising prudentially regulated entities on their regulatory capital requirements including recognition of netting/collateral arrangements; and
- providing advice on matters such as negative interest rates, the implications of the Bank Recovery and Resolution Directive and safekeeping/administration of assets (including negotiation of CREST documents).
Prior to joining Eversheds in 2013 Paul spent nine years working for retail banks including four years within a treasury team where his work focused on legal and transaction management aspects of derivatives and capital markets and the implementation of financial services regulation.
