Robyn is a senior associate at Eversheds Sutherland in Durban and heads up our property department. She has many years of experience in the conveyancing and property field. She commenced her law career as a conveyancing secretary, and while working as a conveyancing paralegal at various busy law firms studied towards achieving her Law Degree, she completed articles of clerkship and qualified as an Attorney. Robyn is also an admitted Conveyancer and Notary Public.

Robyn has been involved in various types of property related work during her career and contract worked in a legal risk role in a private banking environment.

Examples of Robyn’s Property experience includes:

  • conveyancing – including registration of conventional & sectional title property ownership transfers, residential mortgage bonds, commercial mortgage bonds, share block conversion transactions, miscellaneous applications, consents and endorsements (for example legal entity conversions), changes of name, replacement of lost title deed applications etcetera), subdivision transfers, consolidations of properties, certificates of registered title, conversion of real rights to sectional title, legal entity restructure transactions, divorce transfers and endorsements, deceased estate immovable property transactions including transfers in terms of Wills and the Intestate Succession Act No. 81 of 1987 and transfers including sales and redistribution agreements, and miscellaneous registrations in deeds offices in South Africa
  • advice in relation to general property matters : improved/unimproved land, houses, farms, sectional title, share block, corporate real estate, retail, industrial and commercial properties
  • property due diligence investigations
  • registration of transactions in all Deeds Offices in South Africa
  • opening of sectional title registers, team member on various large sectional title developments
  • notarial documents (including authentication of documents for use outside of RSA, antenuptial contracts, cessions of exclusive use areas, usufructs, registration of leases in Deeds Office, and various other notarial work)
  • drafting property related preliminary and ancillary documents
  • supervision of property transfers on behalf of clients where another firm is handling transfer
  • vetting sale agreements for clients and providing legal advice
  • physical attendances on Deeds Office in relation to registration of transactions
