Practice notes

Shavkat is an associate in our Brussels real estate and regulatory practice. He focuses on real estate development, real estate transactions and real estate litigation.

Shavkat handles matters relating to urban planning, permits, expropriation, environmental law, housing standards, etc. He advises clients from the private and public sector on the legal aspects of project development, public procurement and represents them before the Council of State (“Raad van State”), the Council for Permit Disputes (“Raad voor Vergunningsbetwistingen”) and civil courts.

Shavkat graduated in law from the Catholic University of Leuven (“KUL”) in 2016 and completed an additional master’s degree in notarial law at the Free University of Brussels (“VUB”) in 2017. Prior to joining Eversheds Sutherland in 2021, Shavkat has worked as a lawyer in the public law team of an international law firm.

Shavkat is the author of several articles regarding environmental and planning law and is fluent in Dutch, English and French.
