Practice notes

Rob Faasen started his career in 1988 and has founded Eversheds B.V. in 2002. Rob is often consulted for complex inland or cross border transactions or structures. He advises boards on strategic challenges that they face or strategies that boards would like to implement in relation to transactions, joint ventures and other entrepreneurial decisions. As a corporate M&A partner, he leads (international) teams in relation to a wide range of transactions, including M&A, PE-deals, joint ventures, re financing, MBO's, LBO's and controlled auctions. With his entrepreneurial background regularly Rob discusses strategies and policies with the management of companies and general counsels, not necessarily only relating to legal issues.

"Increasingly clients demand an advisor who can familiarise himself easily with entrepreneurial challenges and aspirations of the management. They do not only require knowledge about the business, but also the skills to identify which directions the management can take. Legal is just an instrument and should not predominantly set the course of discussions or negotiations. A manager requires transparent and a clear advice that is provided in the most efficient way. Support in transactions should be given with a clear understanding of the activities that our firm will perform without any surprises in relation to the scope of work and the costs."

Other interviewees say: "He has very good knowledge of the field we are working in and is straightforward and easy-going, which makes the process easier." (Chambers& Partners Global 2016)

Clients describe the team at Eversheds as “exceptional” and “urgent”, praising the lawyers’ attention to detail as a particular highlight of the offering. (IFLR1000 edition 2016)

Clients value the fact that "he puts himself in my shoes and appreciates my position. He really makes my life easier.” (Chambers & Partners 2015; Global and European edition);

"The lawyers understand US expectations and can match them to Dutch needs.”

Eversheds’ team of ‘highly skilled and knowledgeable’ lawyers have particular expertise in the healthcare, life sciences and energy sectors. Rob Faasen advised an NYSE-listed client on the acquisition of a biotech company. (Legal 500 2015)

Biografie
