Gary is an Associate in our Financial Services and Disputes and Investigations (FSDI) Group, specialising in a range of disputes including in particular, financial fraud for a number of large financial institutions.
Prior to joining Eversheds, Gary had nine years of litigation experience in fraud and general commercial litigation, and qualifying as a solicitor in August 2017.
Gary has considerable knowledge and expertise in the area of APP Fraud. With a colleague, Gary has been advising a large financial client for over 3 years on their approach to FOS scam complaints, providing strategic advice and assisting with individual complaints. Gary has also worked on a number of large, one-off cases, including a c.£300m commercial litigation group fraud claim which was ongoing for 3 years, and a multi-million pound commercial litigation fraud claim pursued by a large company.
Gary takes a keen interest in developments in financial fraud, and keeps regularly abreast of developments in case law and regulatory consultations, regularly contributing articles on important topics.
Gary co-chairs an APP common interest privilege group joined by many leading financial institutions on issues relating to both APP and card fraud affecting the financial sector. Gary is also a member of the Midlands Fraud Forum and regularly carries out pro bono work.
