Practice notes
Carolin is a Counsel in the Banking & Finance practice group in our Munich office.
She specialises in banking and, in particular, in structured finance transactions.
Her clients include credit institutions, Fintech companies, debt funds and insurance companies as lenders as well as private equity investors, sponsors and companies as borrowers in the context of the origination, syndication, securitisation and restructuring of national and cross-border real estate, corporate (including acquisition), project and asset finance transactions.
Carolin studied law at Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich. During her legal traineeship she worked in the New York branch of a German bank where she gained valuable experience in the area of project and real estate financing.
Prior to joining Eversheds Sutherland, she worked as a Counsel in the banking team of Simmons & Simmons in Frankfurt and, in the context of a secondment, for a leading British credit institution in London.
Carolin's recent experience includes advising:
- Various finance parties on the origination and restructuring of partly syndicated and securitised real estate financings, e.g. a financing of office property portfolios, of a shopping centre, a development financing of a residential property project and the restructuring of commercial real estate portfolios
- The agent with respect to the acquisition financing of an insolvent German medium-sized company by an Italian industrial group
- The agent with respect to the financing of a leading European IT group of companies by an initial offering of high yield notes and a super senior revolving credit facility
- A new investor (and shareholder) with respect to the acquisition and restructuring of an engineering group of companies
- A British credit institution on the transfer of ECA-covered project financings in several jurisdictions
