Richard is a Partner in our construction and engineering team, advising on the procurement of construction and engineering projects. He advises property developers, funders and occupiers on a range of construction contracts including JCT, NEC, FIDIC and MF/1. Richard has particular experience in the real estate sector, education sector and transport sector.

His recent experience includes advising Westgate Oxford Alliance (a Land Securities and Crown Estate joint venture) on the major redevelopment of Westgate Shopping Centre, Oxford; advising Hammerson on major projects across its retail portfolio including the Spiceal Street development at Bullring, Birmingham and Watermark Development, Southampton; advising Solum Regeneration on several mixed use development sites at Epsom, Walthamstow, Haywards Heath, Twickenham and Guildford; advising Taylor Wimpey on its framework suite of contract documents used throughout its supply chain; advising Seven Capital on various development sites including the Lansdowne, Birmingham; advising Nikal on the development of Exchange Square, Birmingham; and advising on several infrastructure projects and development sites adjacent to or near the railway.

Richard also advises several global corporate occupier clients on their construction contracts.

In the education sector Richard advises universities and colleges on their estate developments. He advised Sandwell College on the delivery of its campus relocation project to central West Bromwich and is advising University College Birmingham on its new campus developments in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter.
