For the past 24 years, Stephen Hill has been a trusted legal advisor in the energy sector, providing valuable insights and guidance to energy companies and investors, worldwide. As the Global Co-Head of Energy, Stephen has played a pivotal role in helping businesses meet their current and future energy transition strategies.
Stephen leads a global team that assists Eversheds Sutherland’s clients in navigating the legal complexities of the ever evolving global energy markets. He has worked on a wide variety of national and international energy M&A and funds deployments for funds, developers, IPPs and utilities. He's worked across a range of clean energy technologies including wind, solar, battery storage, EVs, biomass and interconnectors, including the development, diligence, and investment into several projects.
Stephen's recent experience includes:
- £423 million acquisition of two operating offshore assets for BlackRock and GIB
- 42MW sale of a biomass project to CIP
- acquisition and development of over 1.5GW worth of solar PV in the UK
- acquisition and development of onshore wind assets and solar PV plants for BlackRock totaling over 500MW
- acquisition and debt and equity funding of UKPR by Equistone and Inflexion
