Christian Hilpert is a Partner at Eversheds Sutherland in Germany, heads the German Restructuring & Insolvency practice and co-heads our German Banking & Finance practice. He is also the German liaison partner for our CEE-offices and works in both the Munich and the Berlin office.
Christian has more than 15 year of experience in advising on crisis, in- and out of court restructurings, (cross-border) insolvencies and on distressed M&A transactions. Furthermore, he has a long-standing experience with distressed situations in (cross-border) supply chains, especially in the CEE-region.
He regularly acts for well-known insolvency administrators, debtor-side in debtor-in-possession proceedings and for international clients from the automotive, aviation, retail and private equity sectors.
- Advising IATA in connection with the insolvencies of Air Berlin and Condor Flugdienst GmbH (creditor-side)
- Ongoing advice to large multinational clients from the aviation and automotive industry on distressed situations especially in their supply chain (creditor-side)
- Advising a German insolvency estate (automotive supplier) on the sale of their business (seller-side)
- Advising the debtor-in-possession on the cross-border links and the foreign subsidiaries (debtor-side)

Christian studied law at the University of Münster, holds a Ph.D. from Saarland University and a Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA // Diplôme d'Etudes Supérieures de Gestion) from the European Institute in Saarbruecken. Christian is a certified restructuring advisor (BRSI) and since 2009 is also admitted to practice as a Solicitor in England and Wales in addition to his German admission.
