Practice notes

Tom is a Principal Associate in our Corporate group. He specialises in domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity and group reorganisations.

Tom's recent experience includes acting for: National Grid on the £13.8bn sale of a large proportion of its UK gas distribution business to a consortium of infrastructure investors and the resulting business separation; Electra Partners on its £160 million acquisition of a leading data services provider from UBM plc across 10 international business divisions located in 28 jurisdictions; Phoenix Equity Partners on a £50 million investment in the Gym Group Limited; Epiris and the management sellers on the sale of Treetops Nurseries to Busy Bees.

Tom undertook a six month secondment to Louis Dreyfus Commodities in Switzerland as an in-house counsel, where he was involved in a wide range of non-corporate legal issues for the Europe and Black Sea regions in addition to various M&A and Joint Venture projects. Tom was also seconded to our Hong Kong offices for six months where he worked on various commercial and contentious matters.

Tom has an honours degree in Law from City University London and completed his Legal Practice Course at BPP University Law School with Distinction.
