Practice notes

Shona is a senior associate in our Real Estate Litigation team. She has a wide range of experience in advising clients both in the private and public sector on all aspects of real estate litigation including trespass proceedings and protester injunctions including proceedings for contempt of court. She advises on contentious redevelopment issues, on access issues and potential injunctive action relating to breach of access rights.

Shona also advises on infrastructure projects, issues arising out of agricultural land as well as matters arising out of compulsory purchase including proceedings in the Upper Lands Tribunal. She regularly advises on contentious property management issues arising from portfolios including occupier issues; security of tenure; alienation; forfeiture; covenant, dilapidations claims, consent issues relating to leases and business lease renewals. Shona’s experience includes advising on complex freehold property issues, contentious telecommunication matters, adverse possession claims, prescription claims, rectification claims, boundary disputes, removal of occupiers and title issues.

Shona works with many of the firm's real estate clients in a number of different sectors including: corporate occupiers, utility and energy companies, commercial developers, public sector and transport and infrastructure clients and has particular expertise in Crown Property, infrastructure, trespass and protestor injunctions and agricultural land issues.

Shona’s recent experience includes proceedings in the Royal Courts of Justice, Civil Appeal Division.
