Julie is an Associate in Eversheds Sutherland's Corporate team.
Julie has a broad experience advising clients across a variety of sectors in relation to mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, joint ventures, general corporate governance and equity capital markets transactions.
Julie applies herself in problem solving and technically challenging work. She pays attention to detail whilst looking at the bigger picture to deliver realistic solutions to commercially sensitive matters.
Prior to qualifying as a solicitor, Julie also has experience in distribution and management of funds and coordinating regulatory advice globally as well as acting as an agent for the SRA in the Interventions team.
Julie is the London Corporate representative for the CSR Committee and a member of the Diversity Forum, Women in Business Forum and the Eversheds Sutherland Choir.
Julie is passionate about pro bono work and her experience includes assisting the Ukraine Advice Project UK providing free information and support to those fleeing Ukraine and the charity, Play for Progress, which supports unaccompanied minor asylum seekers through performing arts.
Julie has been on a number of secondments, including:
- Lloyds Banking Group plc – Corporate M&A
- Financial Services Disputes Investigations (internal) – acting for Lloyds Bank on management of PPI cases
- Johnson Controls International Plc – Contracts Management
Julie has acted on a number of major transactions for both private and public sector clients, including:
- Aviva on the £385m acquisition of Succession Wealth
- a Chinese state owned insurance company with businesses across Europe and UK on their Part 7 transfer of insurance portfolios
- a UK insurance business on their s166 review and take action on remedial measures
- a real estate investment management company on the acquisition of a mixed used development scheme in the UK and set up of a limited partnership structure
- a UK pension scheme on the sale of their indirect real estate portfolio in the UK
- a mid-market private equity firm on the acquisition of a Japanese based pharmaceuticals company portfolio
- a Chinese renewable energy company on the acquisition, reorganisation and subsequent sale of its power generation business across multiple jurisdictions
