Emma George

Principal Associate

Emma George is a Principle Associate in our Real Estate team. 

She advises entities in relation to buying and selling propery, granting leases and negotiating from both a landlord and tenant perspective, managing property portfolios, and supporting clients with all of their real estate needs. 

Emma's role is to support businesses with their property needs, whether that is taking office space, buying land to develop, granting leases accross your property portfilio, adivsing on real estate documents and thier terms, or providing practical solutions to day-to-day issues.

She has worked as a real estate lawyer for over 10 years and has acted for a broad range of clients. Whether you are a landlord, tenant, developer or investor, Emma can advise you across the full spectrum of property issues globally. This includes sales and acquisitions, including property due diligence, drafting and negotiating bespoke contracts, lettings and property portfolio management, and specialisng in transactions within the UK and MENA.

Emma has also provided training to legal and business teams on a variety of property law issues and transaction requirements.

She has acted for major transport clients in relation to key infrastructure projects across the UK, as well as large-scale retail companies, developers, and corporate occupiers advising on sales, purchases, lettings and asset management.

Emma is now located in our Dubai office having trained and worked since qualification in the UK. Emma acts for a range of clients on core real estate deals, and more recently Emma has focussed on running key transactions for clients in the UAE, Egypt and Saudi Arabia, as well as advising on multijurisdictional projects.

In her spare time, Emma enjoys travelling, keeping fit, reading and walking her dog Winston. Emma is also on the board of a mental health charity and a member of Eversheds Sutherland CSR committee.

 

Emma’s recent experience includes:

  • Advising a global online retailer in relation to a circa £22m development deal in Egypt relating to the construction of a 'Built To Suit' warehouse, the agreement for lease and leasing arrangements once the premises is developed.
  • Advising on the development and leasing of land at the Ahmed Bin Rashid Port in Umm al Quwain for a leading global port investor, developer and operator.
  • Project managing the sale of a portfolio of properties in Egypt held by entities of differing jurisdictions for a leading consultancy agency.
  • Project managing the delivery of advice across various European jurisdictions to facilitate the installation of solar panels across a portfolio of leasehold properties.
  • Various multi-million pound 'Build To Suit' warehouse deals across the UK including a £100m development with a complex option and agreement for lease structure.
  • Managing the asset management of a large portfolio of properties for a major retail client and creating bespoke and innovative legal solutions to commercial issues, (such as advising the client on proving the property services itself rather than deal with repeat breaches by the Landlord) for several of its key HQ office lets.
  • Acting on the acquisition and custom fit-out for a bespoke HQ office for a lead tech start-up company in London with rent of circa £4.5 million per year.
