Maddy is a senior associate in our commercial team. She provides end to end project, in-contract life and strategic variations advice on complex projects relating to IT/business processes outsourcings, strategic partnerships, infrastructure and transport (heavy rail franchising/rolling stock/O&M, high speed rail, metro and light rail rolling stock/O&M).

She has acted for a variety of public sector (central/local government and arm’s length bodies) and private sector clients in the UK, the US, the Middle East and Asia.

Maddy focuses on contract drafting, negotiation and project management and she is accustomed to working closely with in-house teams/specialist advisers/intermediaries.

An overview of Maddy's key experience includes advising:


  • A UK industry training board on its c.£200m IT strategic outsourcing project.
  • A UK Government ministry on its c.£230m outsourcing of approved enforcement agency services. Also, advising on three high value end-of-life prison PFI contracts.
  • One of UK’s largest gas distributor on its c.£20m multi-tower IT project, as part of its strategic corporate transition programme. Also, advising on a variation to the performance and payment aspects of the project.
  • A UK Government ministry on franchise competitions, in life amendments, termination/re-nationalisation, rolling stock leasing and maintenance, a smart ticketing project and review of model franchise agreements.
  • A global rail operator on its bids/sub-contracting arrangements for heavy rail, high speed rail, metro and light rail concession O&M projects in California, Tel Aviv and Doha.
  • A variety of FTSE 100/FTSE 250 global technology, aerospace, professional and finance services clients on corporate M&A due diligence and commercial contracts relating to transitional services, product/IT platform development and public grant funded projects.


Maddy also has experience of working in-house with clients, including providing strategic client-facing support on virtual secondments.
