Jian Liang is an English law-qualified senior associate in the Eversheds Banking and Finance team. He specialises in financing transactions, including project finance, syndicated debt, real estate finance, acquisition finance and structured finance, and has acted for borrowers, sponsors, funders and public sector multilaterals/development institutions.

Jian Liang has experience working across numerous jurisdictions across Europe, Asia, Northern America, Africa and Australasia. He also has experience in a number of business sectors, including renewables, infrastructure, oil & gas, power, real estate, telecommunications, hotels & leisure and consumer products.

Jian Liang’s recent experience includes:

  • Advising a consortium of Chinese banks in relation to c. GBP 4 billion of credit support facilities being made available in relation to the c. GBP 18 billion UK nuclear new-build power generation facilities at Hinkley Point, Somerset
  • Acting for Lombard North Central plc in relation to a c. GBP 70 million pre-funding and hire purchase facility in respect of the dual-fuel electric power station at the North Mole, Gibraltar
  • Acting for ING on a GBP 35 million senior secured portfolio facility (incorporating an accordion option and an option for additional senior debt) made available to the Kelda Group for the purpose of funding various portfolio projects
  • Acting for the Dover Harbour Board in relation to the c. GBP 200 million financing of the development of the Port of Dover’s Western Docks and other facilities of the port, deal value approx. GBP 350 million
  • Acting for Bayerische Landesbank in relation to various financings of wind farms across the United Kingdom
  • Acting for Santander UK plc in relation to various financings of wind and solar farms across the United Kingdom
