Practice notes

Siobhan is a Senior Associate in our Dispute Resolution and Litigation Department.

Siobhan specialises in commercial litigation and ADR with particular expertise in real property/construction related disputes and IT/IP disputes. She works in the areas of contentious building and construction related disputes, disputes in the commercial property sector, Landlord and Tenant and general real estate related disputes.

She is a member of the Arbitration Ireland 2022 Committee that is assessing the feasibility of an Irish Arbitral Institution and also sits on the Young Practitioners Committee for Arbitration Ireland. She is a regular contributor to the publication of articles in her areas of specialisation.

Siobhan has developed significant experience of acting in corporate disputes. She advises clients across the full supply chain, including; funders, developers, contractors, sub-contractor, suppliers and designers as well as advising in complex Directors’ disputes and Shareholder disputes within the property/construction sector. 

She has acted in multimillion euro disputes arising from investors’ investments in financial products promoted by both leading financial institutions and financial intermediates, and a Bank with an international presence.

Siobhan’s recent experience includes;

  • acting in a multifaceted, entrenched and long running shareholders dispute involving international wine distribution companies.
  • advising for an international windfarm operator in a dispute with its insurer arising from revenue losses arising from a mechanical breakdown at the windfarm.

  • advised on a possible judicial review in the healthcare sector.

  • advised for Stena Line in a breach of contract dispute arising from its operations in Dublin Port.

  • advised a multinational beverage alcohol company in a dispute with its contractor who constructed a production facility for the production of alcohol in Dublin. The dispute was successfully resolved at Conciliation.
