Steffen Morawietz is an Associate in the IP and Commercial practice at Eversheds Sutherland in Munich.

His activities include providing legal advice to international companies in the areas of intellectual property law (including competition law) and copyright law, media law as well as civil law. Steffen's advice focuses on companies in the e-commerce sector, in particular with regard to consumer protection requirements, contract drafting and distribution law matters.

He is well-experienced in advising companies on the establishment of their online distribution activities as well as on the entry of foreign e-commerce companies in the German market. In this context, he already successfully advised a number of start-up companies during their formation.

He mainly advises international and national clients from the media, sports and consumer goods industries out of court as well as in court, in particular with regard to interim legal protection.

Steffen studied law with a focus on intellectual property law at the Universities of Münster and Munich. Between 2010 and 2013, he worked for the Max Planck Institute for Intellectual Property and Competition Law. He completed his legal traineeship in the district of Munich Higher Regional Court, in the course of which he already worked for Eversheds Sutherland in the areas of trade mark, competition and copyright law as well as anti-trust law.

Moreover, Steffen gives lectures in civil and public law at Ludwig Maximilians University of Munich and has been working there as a corrector of written state exams since 2013.

In addition to his activities for Eversheds Sutherland, Steffen currently writes his doctoral thesis on questions regarding distribution balancing the demands of intellectual property and anti-trust law at the University of Bayreuth.
