Glenn is a Costs Lawyer and head of Eversheds’ Costs team. Qualifying as a costs draftsman in 1995, he now has nearly 25 years' experience in the field of costs. Glenn was manager of Eversheds' costs team from 1998 to 2002, when he left to take up the role as head of costs at Clifford Chance. He returned to Eversheds in May 2004.
During the past two years, Glenn has been involved in a number of claims for costs arising out of financial mis-selling claims, both investment and payment protection claims. Glenn has been retained in a number of Court of Appeal matters notably Rubenstein v HSBC and Holdstock v HSBC, and is now representing a number of banks in relation to Section 75 claims arising out of Breast Implant surgery claims. Glenn was also retained by the Lloyds of London market to defend a £5 million costs claim in the case of Capita Alternative Fund Services v Drivas-Jonas [2012] EWCA Civ 1417.
Glenn's other experience includes all aspects of costs disputes, but he specialises in major commercial litigation, including arbitration, and disputes between solicitors and clients in respect of fees. He has been involved in a number of reported cases including Griffiths -v- Solutia UK Limited [2001] EWCA Civ 736 and Inline Logistics -v- UCI Logistics [2002] 2 CLR 304. He has also dealt with an International Arbitration Dispute involving the Moscow State Government, where the claims for costs topped $9,000,000, and was retained to represent the London Development Agency in relation to a dispute in respect of professional fees incurred on behalf of various businesses relocated as a result of the London 2012 Olympics.
