Practice notes
Ben is a Partner in our Real Estate Group, acting on a broad range of work from site assembly, development, letting and funding to acquisitions and disposals.
In the retail sector his recent career highlights include delivering the high profile Westgate, Oxford and WestQuay, Southampton schemes and securing anchor lettings to key brand partners at Gunwharf Quays and Freeport Braintree as part of his role running Landsec's outlet portfolio. Earlier in his career Ben sold The Mailbox Birmingham and more recently Printworks, Manchester (both for values in excess of £100m). He led on the acquisition, funding and development pre-lets on the North Star leisure scheme in Swindon for Seven Capital.
Ben has also delivered the £70m Friargate mixed use scheme in Coventry, including Coventry City Council's new award winning headquarters in 2017. He acted on the forward funding deal on phase 1 Exchange Square, Birmingham which comprises over 600 Private Rented Sector apartments and had a deal value over £100m.
In the transport sector Ben acts for Solum Regeneration, a partnership between Network Rail and Kier formed to attract private investment into the rail network and build much needed new homes and amenities at gateway destinations.
