Daniel is an Associate in the Intellectual Property and Media team, advising on contentious and non-contentious IP issues as well as media matters.
Daniel's recent contentious experience includes: assisting on a privacy matter in the High Court; advising clients on defamatory and malicious falsehood claims; assisting on trade mark infringement and passing off proceedings in the High Court and Court of Appeal; assisting on copyright infringement matters in the music industry; assisting with designs and copyright infringement proceedings in the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court; and assisting with the reputation management of clients.
Daniel's recent non-contentious experience includes: providing advertising advice to major retailers and financial institutions on the CAP, BCAP Codes and ASA complaints; providing trade mark, passing off, copyright, designs and patents advice to clients as to risks of infringement of third party IP rights; assisting on the due diligence of IP aspects of corporate transactions.
Prior to joining Eversheds, Daniel worked in film post-production, and was part of a team nominated for a BAFTA. Daniel studied languages at university and speaks Spanish and French fluently.
Daniel also has a Postgraduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and Practice from the University of Oxford.
